User Management

Users with the relevant access rights can manage user accounts in the parcelLab App.

Q: How can I create a new user?

A: You can create users in the parcelLab App if you have been assigned the necessary permission.

To create a new user:

  1. Click User Management in the Admin navigation pane. User Management option in the Admin navigation pane The Users page will display.

  2. Click Add User.

  3. Enter the user’s first name.

  4. Enter the user’s last name.

  5. Enter the user’s email address.

  6. Select a locale for the user.

  7. In the permissions section, do one or more of the following:

    a. Assign groups to the user.

    b. Assign roles to the user.

    c. Assign accounts to the user.

  8. Click Save. The new user is created and will receive an email allowing them to set their password.

Q: How many users can I create?

A: There is no limit to the number of users you can create in the parcelLab App.

Q: How can I delete a user?

A: You can deactivate users in the parcelLab App if you have been assigned the necessary permission.

To deactivate a user:

  1. Click User Management in the Admin navigation pane. User Management option in the Admin navigation pane The Users page will display.

  2. Select the user account that you want to remove. The Change User page will display.

  3. In the Permissions section, uncheck the Active checkbox.

  4. Click Save. The user account is deactivated.

Q: What roles can I assign to users?

A: Users can be set up with various access rights based on the following permissions. Each permission corresponds to a module or specific function within the App.

Group permissions enable users access to a set of features in the App. The available groups that can be assigned to a user are described in the following table.

Trackings and Communication Access

Users can access the Trackings and Communication modules to view trackings and communication data for outbound and return shipments.

Configuration Admin

Users can edit, save and publish configuration changes in the App. This group permission includes access to the User Management section in the Admin module.

Account Setup Admin

Users will be able to access the Admin module to manage your account setup and API integrations.

Role permissions enable users access to specific functions in the App. The available roles that can be assigned to a user are described in the following table.

Experience Design Manager

Users will be able to edit and save changes in the Journey Manager within the Experience Design module.

Campaign Manager

Users will be able to create, edit, save and publish campaigns in the Campaign Manager within the Experience Design module.

Return Experience Manager

Users will be able to edit and save configuration changes in the Returns module.

Promise Configuration Admin

Users will be able to edit, save and publish configuration changes in the Promise module.

Survey Admin

Users can create, edit, save and publish surveys in the Smart Survey section within the Experience Design module.

Reporting & Analytics

Users can access the Analytics reports in Trackings, Communication, Returns, Campaign Manager and Promise if available for the account.

Export Permissions

Users can request data exports for the Trackings and Communication modules.

User Management

Users can manage user accounts (that is: create, edit, and deactivate users, and assign individual user permissions) in the Admin module.

Data Request Removal Admin

Users can request data removal and data provision exports according to GDPR.

Manage API Tokens

Users can view and edit API tokens in the Admin module.

Experience Design Admin

Users will be able to edit, save and publish changes in the Journey Manager within the Experience Design module.

Returns Admin

Users will be able to edit, save and publish configuration changes in the Returns module.

Trackings View: Expert Mode

Users can view raw checkpoint data for trackings in the Trackings module.

On-demand Message Admin

Users can create, edit, and execute on-demand messages.

The following user roles can only be granted by parcelLab:

  • Experience Design Admin

  • Returns Admin

  • Trackings View: Expert Mode

  • On-demand Message Admin

Q: Does parcelLab support Single Sign-On (SSO)?

A: Yes. parcelLab supports Google's G Suite SSO and Microsoft Azure AD via OAuth2.0.
